Half Moon Manicure
Perfect manicure for the holiday season. I love these nails because they're so different. I got shellack polish and so far my nails have stayed perfect. These are professionally done because I am the worst at painting my own nails. I got the idea from Lauren Conrad's blog here: http://thebeautydepartment.com/2011/09/blue-moon/
I decided to add one nail of sparkle too. It took a long time, but it was worth it!

My Multimedia Project
For my final multimedia project, I observed the Tucson Farmers' Market and met two companies that are both supported by the local community and they support their local community. These companies make quality products that are growing more and more in Arizona.

Dorothy's Ruby Slippers to be Auctioned Off
Personally, my favorite movie of all time is The Wizard of OZ. I used to dress up as Dorothy all through pre-school. Every time my feet grew, I would get a new pair of sparkly red mary jane flats. A family friend even took a pair and placed them in an engraved plexi-glass box with my name and the words, "There's no place like home." I was ecstatic when my mom took me to see a pair at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History when I was in 5th grade. Safe to say I was obsessed with being Dorothy Gale.
Next week, Profiles in History will be auctioning off one of four pairs of ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland on screen. These particular shoes are the ones worn in the scene where Dorothy clicks her heels together three times to return home to Kansas. They are estimated to be sold for $2 million to $3 million.

Stop Motion Videos
I saw these music videos where they used stop motion. I think they are really cool, but it must have taken forever!
The first video was by Kinna Grannis. They used 288,000 jelly beans. It took 22 months to complete.

The second video was for a band called Hudson. They used 920 colored pencils and took 5,125 frames of footage to complete.

December Wish List
It's finally December! Yay! This is always a fun month for me because I love to get creative with my winter outfits at holiday parties. And since I celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas on either sides of my family, I have tons of holiday spirit!
My dad said he was going to get a Christmas tree from Home Depot tomorrow and I get to decorate it when I get home in a few weeks. His birthday is on Christmas, but we never feel like cooking. So, for the past three years, we've gone out for Chinese food. :)
I'm so bummed, though, because my mom's family always has a Hanukkah party, but I'm not going to be home for it. We play a gag gift exchange game (I call it 'white elephant') and everyone gets really into it. I had been searching online for months for a funny gift (last year I gave Kosher Candyland, Borrow My Pens, and Road Shticks). There is a returning gift that is always in unassuming packaging: an Elvis Cookbook. It's been going on for years, and whoever gets it has to regift it in a creative way. I always have so much fun with my family.
Now that the Holiday season is around the corner, I can share my Wish List with you all!

Obviously some of these gift are completely unrealistic. I would never expect anyone to spend this much on me, but I just love that Hamsa necklace (but one for under $50). The lady with the cucumbers represents one day of relaxation and papering which I would gladly spend at home with friends and get a cheap massage from a local place. Perfection. The rest are just things I've had my eye on for a while, or brands that I'm a fan of. Enjoy!
